Mata Nui (Deity)

The Mata Nui stone, a representation of the Matoran's benevolent deity used during story-tellings at the Kini-Nui.

Mata Nui is the benevolent deity of the Matoran race, worshipped for bringing them to the island paradise named after him.  He gave them the three virtues of Unity, Duty, and Destiny, and all things good are attributed to him.  He is the brother of the greedy and manevolent Makuta, who put Mata Nui into an Endless Slumber according to legend.
