Biography
Pre-BZPRPG
From the beginning of known history, Matau had been the wise leader of Le-Koro. During Makuta's reign he strove to keep his village safe and when Toa Mata Lewa arrived to fight Makuta's darkness, Matau helped him master his powers and gain knowledge of the island.
Arc 1
After the Toa Mata disappeared into Mangaia never to return, Matau continued taking care of Le-Koro. At some point all the Turaga, including Matau, were kidnapped. Matau was captured by Heuani himself. The Turaga were exposed and became hosts to Parakuka slugs. After being released during the Rama Hive Attack by the Island Liberation Front, the Turaga were kept in Pala-Koro as a safety measure for a time.
Finally, Matau and his fellow Turaga were returned to their Koro. Matau was warmly greeted by the Matoran of Le-Koro, but as he reached his hut, he was shot in the head by a Vortixx sniper named Marfoir who had been sent by the Bad Company.
Personality and Traits
Matau was a lively Turaga with a good sense of humor. He was famous for his practical jokes, but his village also had the greatest loyalty to him. Being a Turaga of air, Matau had very limited control of air. His noble Mahiki allowed him to create optical illusions.
